Welcome to choose your own adventure theatre, or CYOAT for short (like coyote, but a lot less dangerous!). CYOAT was born out of an idea that students should have the power of choice. The choice of what areas of study they wanted to focus on, based on their personality and interest! Not every student who walks through the theatre classroom door wants to be an actor, so why should I force them to. The CYOAT program has been used in multiple schools across multiple countries and has been proven to work. It engages students with various activities and videos and the formative assessments are scaffolded to lead students to be successful on their culminating assessment. Each unit is meant to be completed over roughly 3 weeks, but can be adapted to fit the need of your classroom. Welcome to the CYOAT family!
