Looking for a fun lab for your students to complete around Halloween? This is an amazing engaging lab that my students love! You can walk through an educational presentation with your students including information about types of wounds like lacerations and abrasion as well as the hemostatic healing process. A handout is included for students to fill out with post-lab questions that follow the presentation. You can also use guided notes for students to follow along with the slideshow. Lab suppl
A short and fun activity for your anatomy students. They will use Google Slides to create an ugly anatomy sweater. They are required to place the bones within the sweater in anatomical position and describe where they are located using directional terms. Great for a Christmas add-on at the end of the semester. You can even offer it up for extra credit.
Turkey causing drowsiness seems to be the topic of conversation around Thanksgiving. This short lecture, with fill-in-the-blank notes for students, debunks the myth that it's solely turkey that causes one to feel sleepy on Thanksgiving. Students will then create a simple wanted poster for review of the content. Example included.
This lab covers the basic elements of building a sarcomere to show the contraction of a muscle. The sliding filament theory is easily represented using play-doh and a few other lab materials you already have on hand. My students enjoy creating a visual representation of this. Included is the lab manual (with pictures) and post-lab analysis questions.
Use the lesson to learn about water clarity, turbidity, and total suspended solids then have students work through a measurement lab using a secchi disk. Directions and materials listed for lab - little set up.
A lab with SIMPLE materials! This lab is a great visual for students, especially once they have created the graph at the end of the lab using data they gathered. If your students have learned about absorption and reflection/ albedo effect, this is the perfect lab! Please email haleyhbugos@gmail.com with any further questions!
Perfect for the end-of-the-semester activity for your science classes with Christmas Science puns. You can offer it as extra credit or just as an activity to keep students quiet while others may still be working. Choose from 15 different coloring pages.
Stream orders are a perfect addition to any freshwater lesson. After learning about how to create stream orders, assign this as a homework assignment or a mini project for an assessment of stream orders.
A simple lab with clear results. Easy set up with minimal amount of prep! Students will investigate how different freezing and thawing periods results in layering of sediment and water overtime in an ice sample. They will investigate, draw, infer, and conclude on a guided lab document through Google Docs or a PDF to print for them.

Students will test and calculate the porosity of different materials in the lab. This lab only requires beakers, soil, sand, and gravel (but you can swap out for different materials if needed). Procedure: Your objective is to calculate the porosity of three different types of soil: Sand, Gravel, and Potting Soil. You will need two glass 250 mL beakers, each of the three types of soil, water, and a calculator.
Watch the news forecast and update of Hurricane Melissa with your class and have them answer a google forms after. This is part 2 to the first news forecast of Hurricane Melissa hitting Jamaica. News report for 10/29/25
Use this google slides assignment to help your students understand the Koppen Climate Classification System. An example is given and a map is provided! My students did very well with this after we discussed biomes around the world and change in climate zones.
Have your students build a calf using a coin to flip for its genotypic/phenotypic traits! This simple activity can be done online or on paper if assigned to each student on Google Classroom. Teachers can print out the image on the last slide and have students create their calf to align with its phenotypic traits. My students very much enjoy this!
A SIMPLE experiment to do with your class the requires even SIMPLER materials. I have my students complete the lab after we have talked about one of the following: cloud formation, weather, change in climate or the albedo effect. You can take the lab in any number of direction and use a variety of materials. It will walk students through a demo lab and then challenge them to use other materials to create their own cloud and see how the change in materials would impact cloud formation. I.E. Inste
The perfect project! This project has students using data and Google Sheets to create graphs to compare the climates of two different locations. This normally takes my students a week to complete with step-by-step instructions on Google Slides that walk them through the graphing. The cross-disciplinary work is great for a teacher looking to challenge students and cover NGSS. please email me if you have any questions while working on it: haleyhbugos@gmail.com
