This activity can be used as a literacy centre activity when teaching Fact Or Opinion. Just simply print, then have students research (using books, iPads, computers etc) to write 3 facts and 3 opinions about their chosen animal.
A great imaginative activity for students after you have read/watched/listened to the story of Puff the Magic Dragon. You can also use this with any dragon story or creative writing task centred around dragons!
It was fascinating to see students thoughts and ideas tumbling out on their worksheet!! We also matched this with a paper plate craft activity as found here on Pinterest: http://www.learnwithplayathome.com/2015/06/simple-paper-plate-dragon-craft.html
I have created this document to show the expected level in June and December. It also helps to quickly work out if a student is 6 months behind, 12 months behind or above expected level.
I use this to help with reporting to parents.
Thanks,
Lisa
