This is a hands-on, group station activity that has students use large color-coded strips of paper to build sentences. They begin by creating prepositional phrases, independent and dependent clauses, and then they build and label the sentences other groups make afterwards. This allows the students to "see" the structural patterns of sentences, and gets them out of their seats to move about.
