This brochure introduces students to the Base-Ten Positional Number System. It defines and provides examples of standard form, expanded form and word form, while providing them the opportunity to create their own number and translate it into these different number forms. There is also a place value chart which include periods, place value position and the base-ten block representation. The middle section of the back is left blank so that students may glue this into their math journal.

This is a very basic mini unit on the basic fo multiplication, covering factors, products, arrays, drawing a picture (groups), expressions and equaitons. This is a great was to introduce multiplication for the first time OR to start the school year off reviewing the basic concepts of it. Day one envolves creating a journal entry and foldable, and a timed multiplication quiz. Day two is a literature connection. There are several books listed with link to lessons that coincide with the book.
