Experience

My professional career in education began with service in the Head Start program as a Classroom Aide, then as a Home Visitor. My Ph.D in Urban Education with a counseling specialization & experience in the Department of Curriculum and Foundations, has given me the knowledge to instruct college students in various areas of study (PSY 100, Ed Psych, Social Foundations of Education). Teaching style

My style of teaching and writing is comprehensive, well-rounded, cross-curricular, fun, engaging, silly, interactive, and playful. I believe children should enjoy the learning process and teachers should enjoy it too. I love the idea of multiple intelligences, so I incorporate math, literacy, art, physical activity, and social skills into everything I do.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have written and edited content for Learning Horizons, some of which have won Parents Magazine or Dr.Toy awards.

My own education history

I have a Ph.D in Urban Education with a counseling specialization. I have a Masters Degree in Art Therapy and an undergraduate degree in Psychology.

Additional biographical information

I am an education expert with a creative flair...I write, edit, illustrate, and design, and I want to help provide teachers with fun new materials that will engage and inspire young learners.
