Experience

The past 20 years I have spent traveling and teaching all over the world. As an international teacher I taught children from many backgrounds and education systems. I often had to write my own curriculum and develop my own materials, so one thing I understand well is universal materials that can be flexible, adaptive, and budget friendly.

Teaching style

My teaching style approaches academics through the lens of socio-emotional learning. Connection and context are vital, especially for second language learners. I integrate social and emotional learning into lessons as often as possible, so my materials can often be used in an individual, pair, small group, or whole class setting depending on the learners' needs. They are highly adaptable and reusable in many different ways.

I then studied and graduated with a BS from UT Austin in 2004 and teaching certification from the state of Texas. In 2004 I participated in a study abroad program in New Zealand at the University of Otago in Dunedin.
