Here is a pool of questions (focusing on regular preterite tense) that I use in class to get my students talking! Use them to interview students, let them interview each other, as speaking tests or quizzes, divide them up into task cards, or my favorite, use them with numbered jenga blocks (play jenga, but answer the corresponding question to each block you draw).

Play the simple card game 'war' with this accompanying powerpoint. All you need to supply is the deck of cards for each team or player. Students will speak the target language while playing and will give definitions of the words.

In Spanish class, I love to get kids up and moving! Do so with these cards that will give students a silly command to complete one after another! You can edit these cards to include your name and details specific to your classroom.

A great way to start off the year in a Spanish classroom (or end it on a fun note)! Get signatures for the people who have done these things...first to get five in a row is the winner! You can easily adapt this word doc to fit your students better.

After teaching the alphabet and basic letter sounds to my students, I use this power point to have them practice spelling words. In partners, one student faces the screen, and the other has their back to the screen. Student one then spells the word, and student two writes it down. Then student two tries to pronounce the word. Print these card sets on card stock, and let students draw a noun and adjective. Then, just make them agree! (Ex: Card 1- mi Card 2- los hermanos -->I say, mis hermanos) This is a Word Doc, so you can easily sub in your current or past vocab if you don't love my choices.
