Great to get your students engaged and serve as an introduction to the Enigma code or cyphers in general. I used this as a group based assignment but it could be done as individually. I timed my classes and the 1st 3 groups with the fastest times won bonus points. They were really engaged with the game! There is a secret message spelled out with the false "distractor" words as well for fun! I hope you enjoy this!
Here is a fun activity to either introduce the escalating threat of nuclear war, or review some of the important points while letting kids take some ownership of the content. Students break into groups and decide what actions they would take if they were the leaders during the cold war. Each decision affects how close their group is to starting a nuclear war.
