Text structures use keywords to signal the type of text structure used. Students can sort those signal words into appropriate groups. The text structures used in this activity are: Chronological/Sequential Order, Fact and Opinion, Compare and Contrast, Problem and Solution, and Cause and Effect.
There are also several short paragraphs for students to sort into the correct structure category.
This is made in powerpoint and I included blank boxes for you to add your own words or paragraphs

If you haven't ever watched a Kid President video, I highly encourage you to! My favorite is "A Pep Talk from Kid President." His videos are humorous, inspirational and enjoyable for both kids and adults! I love to show his video and discuss his advice with my classes. His quotes are easily incorporated to any subject. These posters look great all together on a bulletin board or can be rotated weekly or monthly. Teach on, friends. You are creating something that will make the world awesom

This fun project is adaptable for most primary grade levels. Students will imagine and write about what it would be like to be stuck in a snow globe. After completing their composition, you will take their picture and help them construct a "snow globe" with their picture inside as if they are stuck in the snow globe! I have included detailed instructions to complete the project, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

This is one of my favorite projects I do with my students. Parents absolutely love reading their child’s autobiography and the students enjoy sharing them! I give my students one prompt a week and at the end of the year we combine them with their own pictures to create their very own autobiography. This is created in powerpoint and you are welcome to add to the prompts I've included.
This project is always fun! Students use computation skills including adding, subtracting and multiplying. This project has a real-life application as they prioritize what they spend their money on. This assignment also includes a writing component.
