This is a set of 5 posters featuring the 5 w's - who, what, when, where, and why. Each poster explains the meaning of the term and has a sample picture with labels. These posters can be used to help teach the second grade Common Core Standard for the 5 W's. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.

This is a week-long unit of mini-lessons to introduce students to dictionaries and how to use them to check and correct spelling. There are 5 worksheets and a lesson-plan for the mini-lessons. The instruction is designed to focus on one small skill each day. The teacher should model the skill and then allow students time to complete the page on their own.
