This pack includes tic-tac-toe choice board for word work AND worksheets for every activity!
I use these activities daily in my classroom to incorporate student choice into their word work. Activities are designed to reach different preferred learning styles, and practice skills at differentiated levels. Students can pick any activity they want, but their choices for the week must make 3-in-a-row!
Students follow the same schedule every week.
Monday: Cut and Sort words
Tuesday: Tic-Tac-Toe choic

We know that all students learn differently, so using data to assist in planning our differentiated instruction is essential if we want to maximize our students’ learning. Included you can see samples of how I use these data charts to help plan my instruction.
I like being able to see, at-a-glance, at what levels my students are achieving and where they are making the most growth. Seeing the data presented visually is also helpful for guiding student grouping.

I use this sight word packet to assess my students' sight word knowledge throughout the year, and to communicate with student families about words they need to practice.
I assess my students by having them read the sight words on the list about once per month. I place a mark in a different color each month next to every word the student does not know yet.
I then find the percentage of words the student knows, and we celebrate the growth that they made since their last sight word test!

Each page in this pack states the Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade Common Core Writing Standards in student-friendly language so that they are ready to post on your writing focus wall or objective board!
This pack comes with three ready-to-go graphing worksheets. The worksheets are common core aligned (1.MD.C.4--Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another) and help students practice making pictographs and analyze data. The activity is hands-on so it is a great way to engage your tactile-kinisthetic learners. Enjoy!
Students can use this Active Reading Sheet (print front/back) to actively make sense of a story as they are reading. Students use the reading strategies of predicting, clarifying, visualizing, questioning, and summarizing to build comprehension as they read.
