Three Reads is a great strategy / intervention to use for those students who struggle with word problems! First, give the students a word problem that doesn't have a question. Read it one time, and have the students summarize what the problem means in their own words. Then read it a second time, and have the students go through and identify the values in the problem. This includes units, positive and negative words, any assumed values (Mark's height), etc. Then read it a third time, and have
