This collection of activities relates to the fabulous novel A Long Walk to Water. There are two crossword puzzles, a cloze reading passage, a vocabulary exercise that entails matching synonyms, and a vocabulary quiz. All assignments have answer keys.
This presentation was made with Google Slides. It goes step by step through the process of making a compound sentence using the conjunctions and, or, & but. There are visuals to accompany every slide so that it's ideal for ELLs.
This Bingo board game includes 24 academic vocabulary words related to water. There are 18 versions of the board, plus an extra set of the words (accompanied by photographs) to cut apart. There is a clear, colorful picture included with each word, making it ideal for ELLs! I print these boards on cardstock and insert them into plastic sleeves. Then my students use dry erase markers to play!
This puzzle has 30 clues with thirty answers. It is all about the cardiovascular system (a.k.a. circulatory system). There are two versions: one with a word bank that has the answers listed alphabetically and another version without a word list included. There is also an answer key.
