Learn or review the scientific method by watching an episode of Discovery Channel's MythBusters series. The show entertains, yet teaches about following the scientific method in order to withstand the scrutiny of their many fans.
Can also be used for: make-up for a missed lab, homework, vacation work, alternative assignments, etc.
A 15 minute warm up activity and follow up activity for homework. Students enjoy this assignment because they get to draw the objects that they find.

Teaching style
I prefer to keep as much of my instructional time filled with hands-on activities as possible; it's more demanding, but I figure the kids can work with their textbooks at home.
