These charts will enable the teacher to test their students' ability to: -Identify key signatures -Write scales -Identify finger patterns I use these charts regularly in my classroom. Whenever we are learning a new piece, I hand out these charts and make sure my students know their finger patterns prior to sightreading the music. I also regularly cast these charts onto my SmartBoard and fill in the chart myself to aid the visual learners in my classroom.

Teaching style

My personality is highly creative, so I strive to let my creativity flow into my classroom, and I try to use that to my advantage when it comes to inspiring students. I begin every semester with a performance of something I created/composed/wrote over the break, and I constantly try to push my students to be the most creative individuals they can possibly be. Dostoevsky wrote in his classic novel, The Idiot, that "beauty can save the world," and I believe that the beauty of music, combined with education, can accomplish that goal.

High School - Graduated from Morton High School in 2008 College- Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2012 with a degree in Music Education Graduate - Masters in Music Education (2021) - Illinois State University

Additional biographical information

I am an avid composer. I have premiered five of my pieces with the various orchestras I conduct since 2012, and in 2018 I premiered my first large-scale composition, "Ruth: The Musical," in Morton, IL. In 2023, I began my personal consulting business where I began helping teachers improve their classroom efficiency with advanced-level Google Slides, Forms, and Sheets methods.
