David has published articles in professional journals and presented at conferences, and was vice president of the Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers and editor of their journal Teaching Mathematics from 1998 to 2000.

My own education history
David Ilsley grew up in England, receiving 1st Class Honours and a Masters degree from Cambridge University.
He moved to Australia, and after doing post-graduate research at the Australian National University in Canberra, went on to do a Diploma of Education at the University of Queensland.
