Random Number Place Value helps students recognize the value of numbers in a way that's unpredictable and fun. Students will be engaged in this approach on visual and tactile/kinesthetic levels. Cookie Multiplication makes it easy to see groups in order to multiply. This file is geared towards 2nd graders learning how to multiply. There are 3 slides. The first slide shows two cookies. There are groups of chocolate chip cookies below. Simply drag an amount of chocolate chip cookies into each cookie (1-12) to set up the multiplication problem. Below the cookies are the basic multiplication and addition sentences. You can ask the students what numbers should be placed in the blank spaces.
