Use this assignment as an in class activity or homework for students to practice finding the vertex and axis of symmetry when given a quadratic function in standard form.

I usually use this activity for students to explore the internet and come up with their own notes on parallel and perpendicular lines. I will let students use their phones or computers to look up definitions and examples and fill in the boxes with whatever they find. Then I will have them share their findings with a partner, then with the class. This can also be used as a review, formative assessment, or quiz after a lesson about parallel and perpendicular lines.
