This is my 4th year of teaching. I currently teach a third grade gifted and talented class. I also work with advanced fourth and fifth grade students, specifically in math!
Students will research an animal to learn about what attributes they possess related to their senses and how those senses support survival, growth, behavior, or reproduction. This project includes organizers for research and a rubric.
This assessment is for 4LS1-1 and 4LS1-2. It has multiple written responses which assess student understanding of internal and external characteristics and how those behaviors support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction.
This assessment can be used for an end of unit assessment or a pre-assessment. It assesses student knowledge of physics vocabulary (ex: force, weight, speed, etc.), students ability to identify different types of motion (variable, uniform, period), and student ability to identify factors that affect speed.
Students are a placed in the role of a biologist and are going to create an eBook which explains the internal and external characteristics of two living organisms, one a plant and one an animal.
Students will incorporate various elements of speed and energy into a video. This task also includes vocabulary and a rubric.
