This is my 4th year of teaching. I currently teach a third grade gifted and talented class. I also work with advanced fourth and fifth grade students, specifically in math!

This math challenge requires students to design a new business district for a downtown city. As they add dimensions to their businesses, they must calculate the area of each business and stay under a specified budget. They then must write a letter to the mayor of their city defending their business plan!
Note: This is specific for Hagerstown, MD, but please feel free to modify it for your town!

This organizer can be used with students to set personal goals. The document takes them through the process of setting an objective, determining their steps for mastering the objective, what resources they will need for this goal, and how they will demonstrate mastery of the goal.
Students will use line plots with fractional scales along with other types of graphs (differentiated based on MAPs range) to create an infomercial which supports an opinion.
This PARCC like assessment assesses students ability to convert measurements within the standard and metric system. It is aligned to Common Core Standards and also includes a section differentiated based on MAPS.
This assesses students ability to calculate and convert between measurements (time, liquid measurements, weight, and distances) as well as calculate rate problems!
This quiz assesses student understanding of place value in whole numbers and decimals as well as their ability to round decimals and whole numbers and compute with decimals.
