Hello! I’m Kari Luise, an architect, engineer, educator, and co-founder of de-cipher solutions LLC, a consulting and education firm focused on architecture, engineering, and technical career pathways.
With 30+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, and design practice across Canada, Germany, and the United States, I bring real-world industry insight into the classroom. Ten of those years were spent teaching university level architecture and engineering in my former hometown high school in Connecticut. My work focuses on helping students understand how concepts taught in school connect to actual architecture and engineering practice.
Through de-cipher, I develop resources that help students move from learning about design and engineering to thinking and working like designers and engineers.

Hello! I’m Kari Luise, an architect, engineer, educator, and co-founder of de-cipher solutions LLC, a consulting and education firm focused on architecture, engineering, and technical career pathways.
With 30+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, and design practice across Canada, Germany, and the United States, I bring real-world industry insight into the classroom. Teaching style
I believe the first step to effective instruction is understanding how students think about problems, not just how they solve them.
Architecture and engineering are complex disciplines, but when students see how ideas connect—from concept sketches to technical drawings to built projects—the learning becomes powerful and engaging.
