Congruent Triangles Puzzles (Bundle)

Created by
Deanna McDonald
These puzzles combine knowledge of transversals through parallel lines, triangle sum theorem, and knowledge of congruent triangles to solve the puzzles. Students will progress through the puzzles as they develop their knowledge of how to prove triangles are congruent. Folder includes 5 worksheets and keys to all.

Evaluating Trig Functions Sorting Activity

Created by
Deanna McDonald
This is a sorting activity for students to use reference angles and their knowledge of the unit circle to evaluate trig functions. Folder includes an editable version in Microsoft word and PDF's of each placemat and trig function cards, as well as answer keys. This activity is designed for a high school level Algebra 2 or Pre-Calculus class. There are 2 different versions that are included. The long version uses all six trig functions and sorts 64 different trig functions on a 11" x 14" placema

Even and Odd function Sort

This activity was written for my upper level algebra class. I wrote this to help them differentiate between even, odd, and neither functions. I purposely put functions that had mixed exponents, so they couldn't just look at the function, but actually had to plug in f(-x). Both the activity and the answer key is included. Resource is written in microsoft word so that it can be edited.

Zeroes and Factors of Polynomials Paper Train

The goal is have students solve each problem using their knowledge of polynomials. This was used as a review to prepare students for a mid-chapter quiz. There are 11 problems total consisting of zeroes, evaluating polynomials, evaluating/simplifying polynomials into standard form, and writing polynomial equations with specific features. Directions: Print a copy of all 3 pages single-sided. I have included a scrambled version, as well as the cards in order. I personally prefer different colors fo

This folder includes 3 worksheets and a quiz, along with keys to all of them. Students will use their knowledge of transversals through parallel lines to find all the measures of the angles. These are great because students cannot photo math them!

Surface Area/Volume Paper Train Review

The goal is have students solve each problem using knowledge of surface area and volume. Many diagrams contain composites, so that students rely more on conceptual knowledge than formulas. This was used as an end-of-chapter review. There are 15 problems total consisting of cones, pyramids, spheres, cylinders, prisms, and composites. Directions: Print a copy of all 4 pages single-sided. Because they are already in the correct order, cut them out in advance. I personally prefer different colors fo

FCP and Permutation Sort

My kids needed more practice with fundamental counting principle (FCP) and permutations before I moved on to combinations. This sort was designed for them to practice different word problems with similar numbers to get a better understanding of the different counting principles. Students will need to know FCP, permutations, and permutations with repetition to do this sort. This activity was made for a remedial upper level algebra class (a slower version of Algebra 2). Both the activity and the

My students struggle with differentiating between the different tax forms. This was used to help them sort through the difference and then used as a reference for future use in the semester.

Translating Graphs Sort

Created by
Deanna McDonald
This activity was written for Algebra 2 and upper level algebra classes. I wrote this activity to help my students sort the differences between translation notation, which direction the graph moves, and what sign is used in the equation. There are 3 parent functions that are translated: the square root graph, absolute value graph, and a hyperbola (y=1/x). The files are in microsoft word and can be edited.

Graph Scales Change Theorem (Horizontal/Vertical Stretch & Shrink)

This activity was written for my upper level algebra class. I wrote this to help them differentiate between transformation notation, which direction the graph moves, and what sign is used in the equation. This sort is only focusing on horizontal and vertical stretch/shrink, also known as Graph Scale Change Theorem. This activity makes students transform 4 parent functions: the inverse square function, absolute value function, the cubic function, and the square root function. All transformations
