About the store
I am in my 8th year of teaching. WOW! I just started teaching K-3rd Science at an independent school in the San Gabriel Valley, East of Los Angeles. Previously, I taught at a charter school in the heart of Los Angeles; one of few International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in the area. I am lucky to have worked at a private school in the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles, to give me the confidence and experience needed for this new adventure. I have also worked in a middle school in South Los Angeles. I have experience teaching 6th grade Earth Science, K-5 Science, 4th grade, and now 5th grade. I have my own Etsy shop, but have decided to start putting more educational items into my TeachersPayTeachers shop, since that is how I am spending most of my free time :)

Teaching style

Although I love the traditional ways of teaching, I have also grown to love teaching from the prospective of project-based learning. I believe children learn by becoming owners of their learning and guiding it on their own! I love asking open-ended questions, and allowing my students to choose how they would like to learn a certain topic. I enjoy playing review games to keep my students interested and adding a bit of friendly competition.
