Teaching style
Teacher! I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. Learning should be fun and exciting! I want my students to leave each day eager to come back the next day. Passion...teaching comes from my heart. I love to plan, prepare, and create resources to actively engage my students. Each child needs to feel special as if they are the most important person in the room.
After devoting 28 years to teaching I made the difficult decision to retire. As I turned off the lights and walked out of my classroom that final day, I realized that my heart will always be that of a teacher.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was honored to be recognized as the Teacher of the Year in 2002-2003 and 2008-2009 and PTA Teacher of the Year in 2006-2007. It was a privilege to be chosen as the 2013 South OKC Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.
My own education history
I received my Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Additional biographical information
My husband and I have been married for 44 years. Our son and daughter are both graduates of the University of Oklahoma. My children are the greatest joys of my life as well as my biggest accomplishment! Thunder Up! Boomer Sooner!
