This interactive Jeopardy-style game can be used with the Words Their Way word sorts. The PowerPoint can be uploaded to Google Drive and shared with the students who are creating the answers (clues) and questions. Once complete, assign a scorekeeper and an operator for monitoring the slide show. Other roles may be assigned. This activity can be used for practice/reinforcement or as an informal assessment. For use with Words Their Way sort # 36 of the Within Word Pattern book, or with any word study of the silent beginning consonants. As review of the sort or an informal assessment, students can independently fill in the proper silent consonant at the beginning of each word. As an introduction to the sort, students can discuss each word and determine which of the consonants to place in the blanks (given choices of: kn, gn, wr).
