About the store
I have a strong love for reading and highly value critical thinking. My lessons focus on analyzing text, drawing inferences, and understanding character development through the full spectrum of ELA standards without pulling the reader out of the story, but rather allowing them to grow deeper connections to what they read.
My background is in high school education, as well as teaching both 7th and 8th grade ELA. Currently, I partner with various multi-grade homeschool co-ops making novel based curriculum.

Compare and Contrast Essay Packet: Compare 2 countries
Use this guided outline to brainstorm and layout a compare and contrasting research paper. Utilizes the "NewsELA" text sets (free online resource) on countries to allow for students to have a closed library of research to pull from. Students not only are able to practice researching and writing but open up their view points to learn about other countries as well! Compare and Contrast Power Point
Introduction to compare and contrast concepts with key terms and scaffolding practice. Introduces a Venn Diagram, opportunity to compare and contrast based on photos of owners and their dogs, and then use a text to find comparisons. (I used as intro to Amigo Brothers, but will work for any compare and contrast unit).

Shamrock Radio Show
Students will use an online platform to write and record a radio show as a group project. They will research, write a script, and perform with a group. Grading rubric is included.

Self and Peer Editing Sheet
When printed double sided this chart allows students to edit their own paper and have another student edit. They will look primarily for mechanics and simply fix what is wrong with the paper rather than just identify pieces of the paper.
