Give students some say in what questions they will answer for this assessment, which includes one-step, two-step, equations with distribution, and multiple choice questions. As one of my students said about this test, "we like the autonomy of picking our own questions." Equations are given a point value and students choose 27 points worth of questions. An answer key is included. Copy the first six pages double sided.

Students will be excited to learn about measures of center and spread in this tasty lesson-- students find the mean, median, mode, and range of starburst (I use whole class) and then independently find the same data points of individual raisin boxes, comparing the data to the starburst. Good for a review at state test time!!
