About the store

Experience

I’ve taught high school English Language Arts and Social Studied for over 17 years, working with Grades 10 – 12 in Alberta, Canada. My experience ranges from classic literature study to contemporary film analysis, and I’ve developed a passion for designing resources that engage students while strengthening academic rigor.

Teaching style

My teaching style is passionate but grounded, built around student-centered instruction and authentic engagement. I encourage students to take ownership of their learning — exploring texts, ideas, and creative expression in ways that feel meaningful to them. I aim to create a classroom where curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence grow together.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My proudest moments come from watching students rediscover literature in an authentic, organic way. Together with my teaching partner, I’m helping build a new English department focused on curiosity, creativity, and connection. There’s nothing better than seeing students genuinely excited about what we’re studying — and taking those ideas beyond the classroom.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and Education, with a specialization in secondary instruction. Since 2020, I have expanded into teaching the international baccalaureate literature curriculum.

Additional biographical information

Outside the classroom, I’m a lifelong learner who enjoys sports, chess, 3D printing, and reef aquarium keeping. I also love exploring fantasy worlds through novels and audiobooks. At home, I’m the proud parent of two young boys, and watching them learn and grow has deeply influenced how I think about creativity, curiosity, and learning.
