Static sparks, magnetic field lines, and a junkyard crane competition make Chapter 5 one students will talk about long after the unit ends. This complete lab and activities packet includes four rotating static electricity stations (friction, conduction, and induction all in one class period), a systematic magnet exploration, and a build-your-own electromagnet lab where students test variables to maximize strength. Worksheets tackle mass vs. weight, charging methods, and conductors vs. insulators

From Slinkies to string phones to bending light, this complete lab and activities packet for Chapter 4 gives students a tangible feel for how waves work. Students create both transverse and longitudinal waves side by side, build their own string phone and test what makes sound travel, and discover refraction through three satisfying optical illusions using nothing but a cup of water. Worksheets cover wave anatomy, the EM spectrum, and wave behaviors — all with real-world application. Students wr

Newton's Laws come alive in this action-packed lab and activities packet for Chapter 3. Students yank a plate out from under an egg to demonstrate inertia, launch balloon rockets across the room to feel action-reaction, and systematically change force and mass to discover F = ma for themselves. Worksheets build conceptual fluency in speed, velocity, net force, and Newton's Laws identification — and the culminating group project challenges teams to engineer a bumper car that protects fragile carg

Bring energy to life with this complete, ready-to-use lab and activities packet for Chapter 2. Students watch KE and PE trade places on a real pendulum, engineer their own marble roller coasters, and race heat transfer methods using butter and three different materials. Worksheets push students to think relationally — not just plug in formulas — while tiered writing prompts and Socratic discussion questions build scientific argumentation skills at every level. Does your class need more than just notes and multiple choice? This complete activities and lab packet for Chapter 1 brings matter, atoms, and the periodic table to life through hands-on labs, collaborative projects, and writing at three differentiation levels. Students classify mystery substances, build a density tower, prove conservation of mass with vinegar and baking soda, and create element trading cards as a class-built periodic table reference. Three labs, three worksheets, tiered writing

Two pages that cover every corner of S8P2 — and actually make energy make sense. This review guide walks students through the Law of Conservation of Energy, all eight forms of energy, kinetic and potential energy relationships (including the critical insight that doubling speed quadruples KE), KE↔PE transformations on roller coasters and pendulums, energy transformation chains with real-world evidence, and all three methods of heat transfer. Experience

With over 10 years in Georgia middle school classrooms, teaching 8th-grade Physical Science and Social Studies, I bring real experience to every resource in my store. I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist's degree in Instructional Technology, and that background shapes how I design materials that are both pedagogically sound and genuinely engaging for students.

Teaching style

My teaching style is built around student engagement and real connections to the content. You'll find resources in my store that get students out of their seats, working together, and genuinely excited about science — whether that's a friendly competition to review key concepts, a hands-on activity that makes abstract ideas click, or a collaborative challenge that has the whole class buzzing. I also believe that every learner deserves to succeed, which is why differentiation is at the heart of everything I create. My resources are designed to meet students where they are — with scaffolding for those who need support and extensions for those ready to be pushed further. When you download something from my store, you're getting materials that have been tested in a real classroom, refined through real feedback, and made with a whole lot of love for the craft of teaching. I'm so glad you're here — let's make science (and learning) something your students actually look forward to!
