About the store
I love teaching Design. Drawing, sketching, modeling, 3D printing, video production, building, constructing, manufacturing, writing and producing anything and everything. I taught Architecture, Engineering, Graphic Design, Video Production, Electronics, Materials & Processes and Robotics over the last 26 years. I learn by doing. I have worked in construction and developed as a CAD operator and graphic designer. I have shadowed in engineering and industrial design. I attended architecture school for two years and successfully ran two web-based companies for 5+ years each. In 2006, I developed and established The Design Academy, and have taught Design Thinking to thousands of productive designers. We also have exciting new lessons every year. Teaching style

Hands-on, Pragmatic; Project Based, Firm Simulations; Individually Accountable Collaborative Lessons. Students learn best when they "buy in." These lessons are student-centered.

Awards & shining teacher moments

2007 Master Teacher of the Year. Co-Authored Environmental Design: An Art and Technology Education Collaborative. Contributed to the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum “Design Education” group, where we set and established national Design curriculum.

My own education history

I studied architecture in college for two years. I have a BSeD in Technology Education and a MSeD in Technology for Education. I have worked during the summer for design build firms on many real-world projects.
