The subtraction poem can help students better understand all the ways of subtraction. You will have to write in the 2 boxes about the problem next to "More on the floor?...Go next door and take 10 more". Song and Dance I start a slow, large clap with my students. They repeat me. I then start to sing and dance "More on the top?" I put my hands in the air to represent "the top" "No need to stop!" These sheets go along with the BrainPop videos for Vertebrates and Invertebrates. Students should be able to fill in the blank by watching the video. They should be able to do the short mini activity at the end of the worksheets after watching both videos.

Instead of just having the children dress up, make it into a lesson. Have the students pick a book, read it, then dress up as one of the characters for Halloween. Then they get to be creative by choosing to make a large book full of photos of them as the character, decorating a pumpkin, or making a movie, where they are a star. A rubric is attached. My students are super excite and cannot wait till Halloween!

This worksheet is for the students to take notes as they watch the Main Idea Brainpop video. The notes go in order with the video. The quiz contains questions that the students should have learned from watching the video and taking notes.

This novel study concentrates on comprehension strategies, plot structure, and story vocabulary. This would be great for proficient to advanced 2nd grade, proficient 3rd grade, basic 4th grade and below basic 5th grade readers. The Lexile level is 490 and Guided Reading level is O.

Students will listen to the read aloud "How to Catch a Turkey" on YouTube. Then you will explain that they will be challenged to build a cage for the turkey (have a small turkey stuffed animal or print a picture of a turkey). They will only be aloud to choose one set of materials to build their cage. They will work in groups of 2-4 (Your preference). Finally, they will have 20 minutes to construct this cage that must stay together and not have any openings big enough for the turkey to fit throug

Student Self assessment goal sheet Teach students how to set their own reading goals. You check in with them on their reading goals once a week. You can introduce this during guided reading. Have them reflect daily on what they did to work on their goal and if they want to continue it the next day. Have them write down the tools they use to help them work toward/achieve their goal.
