I use these sorts during Word Study time for my non-readers. We also use the picture cards to play memory. This sort includes common stores, restaurants, and grocery items. Please also see my Survival Sign sorts.
I made this book for some of my students in special education. They use this to practice functional communication and environmental print. They have to say the name of the place and chose what to purchase. We also work on coin names and prices with this activity.
I wrote these stories for my struggling readers in 2nd grade. The stories include a variety of Dolch sight words, as well as boxes to track fluency and comprehension activities. There are 2nd grade social studies themes in the stories as well.
I made this sheet to share with general education teachers. The first sheet has a space for the basic information, including accommodations, services, and transportation. The next sheets have spaces for goals and objectives, and boxes for data collection.
I use these sorts with my students in special education. We sort them during Word Study times instead of patterns or words. We also use the cards to play memory. Please also see my environmental print sorts.
I use this in task boxes. The teacher will need to cut out the pictures, and then the students will Velcro the picture next to the question. Good for reading practice, as well as matching functions.
At first "Bob" is boring, and the students write a boring sentence to describe him. Then, they add details to Bob, and make him exciting. They add details to their sentences as well, to make them more exciting!
A booklet about the four seasons, with fill in the blank sentences and an area to draw pictures. Good for K-1 or special education students. Meets VAAP criteria.
In this activity the student sorts pictures into four holiday categories: Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Halloween. This would be great to put in a file folder and laminate.
I use this chart with students who need to know exactly what is expected of them throughout the day. The teacher writes down what has to be accomplished during that time period, and the student can erase the assignment once it is done. Laminate the chart before you use it for easy wipe off! You may want to write 3 assignments, and have the child pick the 2 he/she wishes to complete.
I wrote these stories for my students in 2nd grade, who were reading on a 1st grade level. The stories include a variety of sight words, as well as boxes to track fluency and comprehension activities.
Cute, short activity where students pick 5 words that will be "dead" and not used in their writing anymore (such as: cool, good, bad, sad, etc). I put up a small "graveyard" on the wall as well, as a reminder that the words are "dead".
This is an activity I use in task boxes. I put the book together, cut the sentences out, and have the students Velcro the sentence next to the "matching" cat. Quick and easy!
