About the store
The infamous question you're asked as a child: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The answers: a rockstar, a doctor, a singer, a dancer, and an astronaut are the popular answers. But for me? I have always wanted to go grow up to be a teacher! Only a teacher-want-to-be would stay in during recess to grade papers! I have always had a strong passion for working with children. A classroom is like a home to me, you can create an endless learning environment, full of art, hands-on learning, colors, posters, etc. An for most teachers-your classroom becomes more like a second home! It's during my free time that I enjoy creating and sharing ideas I have to weave with teaching. I have always been a visual and hands-on student myself, so I enjoy creating ways to help build on student understanding through the use of their hands and eyes! This site has been a step toward sharing my ideas beyond! I hope you enjoy it and find my pieces useful to you and your classroom! :-)

Building an Understanding of Symmetry

I have created a PowerPoint of a mini-lesson on Symmetry. This PowerPoint includes key elements or "I Will" statements that students will be able to check off as they work through each slide. These key points are: 1) Learn the definition of symmetry, 2) Recognize lines of symmetry, 3) Identify lines of symmetry, and 4) Practice. This PowerPoint is also interactive--if you pull the projecting screen up, and allow the image to project on only the white board, students can then have the opportunity

3D Shapes Activities: I'm on A Hunt!

I have created a worksheet or it could be used in PowerPoint (so that you can type in the text boxes), either one would work! This worksheet is called I'm on a Hunt. The students must go about the room and find different 2D and 3D shapes that are within the classroom. It allows students to make a real-life connection to math, and what better idea than getting the students up and out of their seats! Also, included are pictures of 3D objects as well as labels for the 3D shape names that can be pla

This is a visual I created to help students learn the concept of money exchange: 5 Pennies=1 Nickel, 2 Nickels=1 Dime. This can be treated not only as a tool but a game for students. It can be used individually for practice or with a partner. The student(s) will roll the dice and depending on that number gather the number of coins and then lay them out on their board. Once the student receives 5 pennies they exchange for 1 nickel, and so on. The first student to reach 50 cents in dimes, is the w

Roll and Record is a two way game! You can add and subtract. This could be printed as a worksheet for partners, or independent work. Another idea would be to laminate and have students work on this with a dry erase marker to practice their addition and subtraction! They simply roll the dice and record the numbers. You could use one or two dice to challenge your students! It's could also be used during math stations!

Same Game (Addition) - Matching Addition Cards Game

This game includes a set of addition facts (one and two digits up to 20). The students must flip the cards over so that they are face down and then flip two cards over at a time. If the answers are equal they have a match! However, the students must use their math skills to solve the addition facts. The cards do not have the answers on them. It is a great game for students to play during math to enhance their addition skills!

This packet is to help students or children who are just learning about telling time! In this packet, there are: Telling Time matching cards (Students match the time to what is shown on the clock!), A "What time is it" manipulative that you can add the hands to the clock and adjust the clock accordingly (it's also great to laminate and then reuse with the students by allowing them to use a dry erase marker to re-write different times as well as matching the hands to the time!), lastly, there is

The students would be using laminated scrabble tiles to create words. Once they have created a word, they record it onto the sheet of paper (or this paper could also be laminated and students would use dry erase markers) to record their words and then count the numbers on each letter to determine the total amount the word is worth! A fun way to teach spelling, reading, and math all in one! All include are: the work mats for the scrabble tiles (to layout word tiles), SCRABBLE TILES ARE INCLUDED

There are a variety of labels that you can laminate and place a magnet to the backs of each so that you can adjust/add them to your dry erase board! It's an easy way to write the objective, page numbers, assignments, etc. right next to them! It's as great visual for your students as they see what they will be doing (Another way to not have to repeat yourself also!) The labels included are: Today in Math..., Game, Small Group, Independent Group, Test, Partner Work, and Group Work.

This document is meant to be used for adding and subtracting. The students can use this visual in counting up and down. For example, they can put any manipulatives into the two hands to figure out how much there would be as a whole!

This was a tool that was created as a reference during math. This grid can be used for all different activities, centers, or games. Students can easily read the numbers and (if laminated) keep in their folder to refer to when needed.
