Students will conduct research on a topic of their choosing and develop a slideshow presentation. Also upon completion of their slideshow, they should prepare themselves to deliver a two-four minute speech that explains how their chosen individual, organization, or event from early in American history influenced the trajectory of the young United States and justify why a monument commemorating their topic deserves to be placed in the nation's capital. Directions: Walk around the classroom and find classmates/teachers who have completed one or more activities from this list. When you find someone who has completed an activity, have them place their initials in the box. Each person can place their initials in two boxes. Once you have completed all of the boxes filled in or have answered as many boxes as possible quietly go sit down at your seat. Students will select 5 critical events and create a comic strip that tells the story of The Revolutionary War. Students must include a picture and a caption in order to receive full credit.
