Use this brochure template when studying the regions of the United States. This is a great final product to use after students conduct research. Discovery Education has many great videos about the U.S. regions.

A short quiz that can be provided at the end of a unit for assessment. The major focus is the three types of rocks, minerals, the rock cycle, and weathering and erosion.

This writing prompt stems from lesson 4 in the ReadyGEN curriculum about the book The Year of Miss Agnes by Kirkpatrick Hill. Check out the graphic organizer on my page as a great connecting activity leading up to this writing prompt. Students are working on Common Core Standard RL.3.3 which involves describing character traits, actions, feelings, and motivations.

This document is editable. As part of the revision process, have classmates read each other's friendly letters and give honest feedback. This is a quick way to have students assess one another.

A project outline and graphic organizer is provided. This is a great lesson for a unit on local government. Ask city council members or the mayor to attend your classroom to vote on ordinances proposed by your students!
