About the store
I am currently a Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teacher in a self-contained total-communication setting serving students grades 2-5. Previously, I was a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Itinerant Teacher for four years serving preschool to 12th grade. I have worked as a teacher's assistant in an early childhood Deaf/Hard of Hearing classroom for one year, and I have worked as a graduate research assistant where I helped develop a literacy curriculum for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for 2 years. Teaching style

My classroom is a total communication model which means my students use different communication modalities. Some of my students use American Sign Language, some use listening and spoken language, and some use a combination of both. My classroom also has a large age range, my youngest students are age 7 and my oldest age 11. Similar to my experience as an itinerant teacher, I served students of various ages, ranging degrees of hearing loss, different amplification devices, varying educational placements, and different communication modalities. I make sure to differentiate instruction to match each student's needs. My goal is to make my materials fun, engaging, and easy to adapt for different students' goals and needs!

My own education history

I received my Bachelor's of Science in Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia and I received my Master's of Arts in Teaching in Deaf Education and a Reading Endorsement from Georgia State University.
