I’ve used the attached with my 1st grade students during poetry month to help them learn vocabulary related to the subject. My students present a “Poetry Slam” where the kids read a lyric poem of their choice. A favorite source is anything by Jack Prelutsky. I use the checklist to assess them on their particular poem.
