Experience

I was hired in 2007 as a high school math teacher in Pennsylvania. Since then I have taught Honors Algebra 2, Honors Algebra 1 (8th grade), Honors Geometry, Algebra 1, and Keystone Remediation. I have also been assigned to remediate the 6th and 8th grade for our state assessments.

Teaching style

My teaching style is very hands on. I love having the students work with each other at different levels to achieve a better end product and learn from each other. I do mostly self guided and student driven lessons with the teacher facilitating the lesson where needed. I have found this works well for the student retention and strengthens their problem solving skills. In general they are more intrigued with math and are always asking for MORE!

My own education history

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2007 with my education degree and mathematics as my specialty. I was hired at Carmichaels School District in June of 2007. I have been teaching here since that point and have also attained my Masters in Education from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2012.
