Teaching style

As a Social Studies teacher in todays world I accept that the focus in the subject area can not be content dominated but instead skills dominated using content as the tool for engagement in the classroom. I focus on tangible strategies that students can use across multiple content areas not only in Social Studies. I am also a major fan of the inquiry approach to teaching history. With modern technology, mundane facts are available at your finger times (just ask google) but skills like sourcing, corroboration, close reading and contextualization are tools students can use to explore history to understand not only how it developed by why the people in the past came to the decisions they made.

Additional biographical information

I am a huge fan of creating new materials for the classroom. Where some teaches are happy with what they make one day I never seemed to be satisfied. After years of sharing my materials with colleagues across NYC for free my Co-Teacher had talked me into starting an account here. I hope you enjoy my materials and provide feedback so that I can continue to create new tools for your classroom.
