Doin' Too Much

This is a simple cut and paste activity where students categorize fall leaves by green and not green. I have had students focus on the shapes of the leaves too which made for a great opportunity to discuss how people may see things differently and both ways are right!

This is a winter themed half-sheet where students count the items they see and write that number on the writing lines provided. My class completed this as a homework activity and then we turned it into a 3-category tally chart and compared the amounts in each.

This is a quick Google Slides presentation to define what a mystery is and how they can be solved. I created it to introduce the theme before diving into doing escape rooms with my students.

I did this activity with second grade students as a review of the conjunctions we learned throughout the year. They LOVED it and even wanted to continue by making up their own sentences for their peers to choose the correct conjunction for. They were engaged and it provided ample opportunity not only to see what they knew, but also to address any confusion they still had.

This is a Google Slides presentation I created to virtually teach students how to create SMART goals for themselves. It is purposefully cheerful and breaks everything down into easy-to-understand steps without being overwhelming.

This is a game board of 1-2 syllable words with /ŋ/ in initial, medial, and final positions. Use your own dice and game markers to play with as many people as you'd like. I've used it with 2-3 players and it has been a great success!

This is the ASL alphabet in English order with real hands. Each letter is the size of half of a standard sheet of paper. I hung each letter above the corresponding grapheme poster in my classroom and students have been using them to increase their ASL to written letter identification.
