Exponential vs Linear Real World Task
In this real world task, students will compare linear and exponential functions by examining two pay options working as a sales representative. For each option, students will write an equation to represent the money they earn, graph the equation, then answer questions about the two pay options. Students will use their answers to help them determine which option will earn them the most money and which pay option to choose. In total, there are 13 questions. Points are shown next to each prob

Experience
I have been teaching secondary mathematics since 2015. I have most experience in teaching Foundations of Algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra II. I have taught these courses at the remedial, co-taught, on-level, and honors levels.
Teaching style
I really love activities where students can self check their work. I think this helps catch misconceptions early on, helps students know what questions to ask, and provides instant feedback. Self-checking activities also give the teacher the opportunity to more easily know who's got it and who needs more help. I also love to help my students stay organized. Foldables help students keep up with the notes in class by providing an outline. Additionally, they can use their foldables to build their interactive notebook that can be used throughout the course.
