Mini-Poster Assignment

Created by

This is an explanation of how mini-posters will be used in the classroom to simulate poster sessions in college. These could take the place of many lab reports that are typically written after a lab and are better suited for inquiry, student designed labs. They will also increase student engagement by having the students present and critique the projects. The revision policy is aligned with SBG guidelines. I would have them make their templates at the beginning of the school year.

About the store

Experience

I have taught Biology I, Biology II, AP Biology and Anatomy & Physiology for 4 years. I was the Science Fair Coordinator for the county in 2013. Chair of the Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) 2012- 2014, School Leadership Team Facilitator 2014-present.

Teaching style

I believe that when students have autonomy in their own learning they are better equipped to become intrinsic life-long learners. I am working on developing a new AP Curriculum that is more hands on and inquiry based.
