Doran's Math Stuff

Students will use exponent rules to simplify algebraic expressions. The product, power, and quotients rules are applied in this fun activity!!!

Students will work in small groups or individually to play this Jeopardy game. Operations include: Simplifying, Multiplying, Adding, Subtracting, Distributing, FOILing, and Rationalizing. This game is provided as Smart Board Activity, but is also offered as a PowerPoint.

Empty exponent table that students fill in and use in mathematics. This is great for when you are simplifying radicals and for lists of perfect squares, cubes, etc.

Student will color according to sum or difference of two given integers.

Students will be given a graph or zeroes, and are expected to write a polynomial in standard form given the information provided.

A review game of exponent operation and scientific notation. Notebook based for Smart-board. Drag or delete shapes as questions are answered.

Students can practice rewriting equations into slope-intercept form by placing organizer inside of a clear page protector, and then write on it using a dry erase marker.

Students will evaluate integer sums and color according to sum.

Students will us product, power, and quotient rules to simplify exponential expression. Once simplified, the student will color based upon the placement of the 4 in the solution.

Students will use flowchart to help understand the process needed to solve a quadratic.

Students create a foldable that explains the difference in parallel, perpendicular, or neither. They will complete both a graphical and computational example.

Students test points in linear equations to decide whether or not the point lies on the line.

Students start by rewriting the equation into slope-intercept form, and then choose the graph the matches the equation. Piece must be cut up prior to actual handing out. Lineup will create a loop of information.
