Experience

Hi! I'm an English teacher with 23+ years of classroom experience, specialising in ESL and ELL instruction for high school students. I create ready-to-use Google Slides activities, speaking lessons, vocabulary resources, and exam prep tools — all classroom-tested and designed to save you time. My resources are built for real classrooms: differentiated for mixed proficiency levels, aligned with WIDA standards, and engaging enough to actually hold a teenager's attention. Whether your students are newcomers or approaching fluency, you'll find activities here that get them speaking, thinking, and building confidence in English. Every resource I share has been used with real students first. No filler, no fluff — just materials that work. I also create a selection of resources for younger English learners — browse my elementary ESL section for K–5 activities.

Teaching style

My resources are built around real communication. Rather than drilling grammar in isolation, I design activities that put students in authentic speaking and listening situations — discussion prompts, structured conversation tasks, and vocabulary work tied to topics teenagers actually care about. With 23 years of experience teaching ESL students from beginner to advanced, I've learned what actually works: clear scaffolding, low-pressure speaking tasks that build confidence gradually, and activities flexible enough to work across proficiency levels in the same classroom. My Google Slides resources are designed to be immediately usable — open, assign, teach.

Awards & shining teacher moments

- Over 23 years of teaching experience with countless success stories in exam preparation and conversational English. - Led language courses in the UK, giving students immersive learning experiences abroad. - Developed classroom-tested resources now shared digitally to help educators worldwide. - Celebrated for creating engaging, fun, and effective lessons that inspire students of all ages. - Proud moments include helping students achieve their language goals, watching them grow in confidence, and seeing my resources make a real difference in learning outcomes.

My own education history

- Studied at Camborne College, Cornwall - TEFL Certification – Qualified to teach English as a foreign language - Completed online courses in Marketing to enhance digital resource creation and sharing - Ongoing professional development in teaching English as a foreign language, exam preparation, and digital resource creation.

Additional biographical information

I'm a UK-born English teacher currently based in Spain, which gives me a unique perspective on language learning — I live it every day. Teaching in multilingual environments across Europe has shaped how I design resources: I understand the specific challenges ELL and ESL students face because I've taught them across many different cultural contexts. My background covers exam preparation (Cambridge, IELTS), conversational English, and secondary classroom instruction. I'm particularly passionate about speaking skills — the area most ESL curricula underserve — which is why the majority of my TPT resources focus on getting students talking.
