Students really enjoy this activity. Have them design a tennis shoe using the template provided. Then have them trace all of the factors of production that would be needed to create the shoe (human, natural, capital).

This is an economic simulation activity using candy to teach students the consequences of living in a command economy. It contains essential vocubulary, a handout, a powerpoint, and detailed instructions. It would fit very well into an economics or history lesson.

I LOVE this project. It requires students to create a multi-level video game. I like to use it after a history unit for a culminating activity. I've also used it for a Literature Circles project. It makes a great post-reading project. It is a 10 page booklet requiring students to design a video game with a protagonist, antagonist, level designs, enemies, and even a final boss. A rubric is included on the last page. Just print the slides (double-sided) and fold and you're ready to go.

This lesson is intended to teach the historical and government elements of autocracy, fascism, and dictatorships. The lesson is based on Saddam Hussein's use of imagery from "Star Wars" throughout his regime. This lesson outlines the basic types of trade barriers including tariffs, embargoes, and trade quotas. It has an activity at the beginning and is very successful in explaining how these barriers affect an economy.
