Master Calc - Grade Normalizing Spreadsheet
This Excel spreadsheet will help you determine if a test needs to be rescaled or curved. I have used this spreadsheet for over 9 years to determine if my exams were too difficult or if there are obvious outliers to the normal distribution. You can set the expected average score of the exam and let the program adjust grades accordingly. This guideline is for my SURVIVOR DAY. This is a full day of field activities that can be modified to be a half-day, or you can just pull individual activities. I have included my guidelines for my 2014 field day. Use as you wish. My students love it. I've been doing this field day for 9 years. Some students state that it's the best thing they remember about middle school!
