A great initial academic target is matching, there are 3 different category lotto boards: shapes, animals, & food. Shapes are a simple concept that I often start off with, then I would try animals. The animals are exactly the same, so they would be matching same picture to same picture. The foods are a little harder as they are the same picture but slightly different.
