This 9-slide presentation is what I use to teach Foundations of Biology and Biology students about the history of scientific ideas (cell theory, etc.) to help students understand how discoveries were built off other discoveries. There is an included timeline activity that can be used for a formative assessment or homework.
This is the 9-slide presentation I use when I am teaching students about how inventions are made based on societal needs. We focus on three main inventions but this lesson allows students to discuss inventions that they are familiar with and how society was the driving force behind the research and invention. The included activity can be used as a formative assessment or homework.
