Teaching style

I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and rooted in strong instruction. I strive to create lessons that actively involve students while still maintaining the rigor needed to support success in 3rd–5th grade reading, writing, and math. My approach balances hands-on engagement with purposeful practice so students are not only interested, but truly understanding and applying what they learn.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am honored to have been recognized as one of Galveston County’s 40 Under 40 and as my district’s Professional Support Staff of the Year. These recognitions reflect my commitment to supporting both students and teachers at a high level. In addition to my role as an instructional specialist, I serve in multiple leadership positions on campus, including Spelling Bee Coordinator and UIL Coordinator and Coach. Through these roles, I have the opportunity to support student growth beyond the classroom while fostering a culture of academic excellence and engagement.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. I attended McNeese State University and Lamar University, with additional coursework completed at the University of Central Oklahoma. I am certified as a Generalist EC–6 educator and have completed the Texas Reading Academies, strengthening my knowledge of foundational literacy and effective reading instruction.

Additional biographical information

As a former classroom teacher and current instructional specialist, I understand the pressure teachers face—especially when it comes to STAAR and the constant feeling that there is never enough time in the day. I began creating resources to help bridge the gap between what students need and what teachers realistically have time to plan. I am especially passionate about supporting bilingual and dual language classrooms, where high-quality Spanish resources can be difficult to find. My materials are designed to be STAAR-aligned, engaging, and cross-curricular so teachers can maximize their time while still providing meaningful instruction. I create with 3rd and 4th grade teachers in mind, focusing on reading and math skills that students need most, while also building a strong foundation for future learning. Outside of education, I am a busy mom of four, so I truly understand the importance of having resources that are effective, easy to use, and ready to go when you need them most.
